Dominika Weiss Hošková began playing the violoncello at age four. After studying at the Prague Conservatory (with Professors V. Jírovec and V. Kočí) and taking additional private lessons with Miloš Sádlo, she continued her studies at the Music College of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, completing a master’s degree with honours under the instruction of her father, Docent Jiří Hošek (2008). During her studies at the Music College of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague she completed a semester’s course at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris (with Professor Jean Marie Gamard, 2007). During the years 2008-2010 she continued her education at the Jerusalem Music Academy (with Zvi Plesser and, for chamber music, Avi Abramovich). Her work was honoured in June 2010 by the Senate of the Czech Republic with a Silver Medal for propagating the good name and traditions of the that country in the State of Israel.
