Marie Šimůnková studied opera singing at the Prague Conservatory with Yvona Škvárová, with whom she continues her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. During her studies, she performed several opera and operetta roles, such as Stázi (Die Csardas Fuerstin), Récie (Incontro Inaspetto), Mařenka (The Bartered Bride), Helena (The Polish Blood), Eleonora (Les larmes du couteau) and others… She sang solo roles on the stage of National Theatre in the operas Zítra bude…,Toufar and Noe´s Flood. She still performs in The Magic Flute as the First Child Spirit at the Estates Theatre in Prague. She participated in courses in Pilsen under the direction of conductor Norbert Baxa and in masterclass at the European Music Academy in Teplice. She is also engaged in concert activities, especially at the Church of St. Nicholas in Prague. She is a member of the external choir of the State Opera. She also performs as a guest at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec and in South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice.
