Nyklband

Nyklband Chamber Choir, z.s. is a mixed choir from Moravian town Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, the members are mainly high school and university students. The choirmaster is Boris Nykl. The repertoire of the choir is very diverse, it includes old spiritual music, arrangements of folk songs and popular music. Most of the repertoire consists of original compositions or arrangements of folk and popular songs made by the choirmaster, in which he aims to achieve the originality and playfulness. Nyklband was founded in October 2014 and since then regularly performs concerts in the Czech Republic and abroad, where they participate in number of competitions and festivals. Among the major successes of the choir are three released albums. The choir also won the silver bands from international competitions in Olomouc, Venice, Italy and most recently in Žilina, Slovakia, where it also advanced to the final round of the Grand Prix.
