Soprano Markéta Fassati was born in Prague, where she studied opera singing under Professor Magdaléna Hajóssyová at the Academy of Performing Arts (HAMU). She is the daughter of renowned Czech conductor, choirmaster, and music educator Professor Lubomír Mátl. Markéta’s extraordinarily extensive repertoire includes a diverse range of styles, from Baroque (CD Alchymist, 2018), through Romanticism, song cycles, operatic arias (CD Emozioni, 2017), to sacred music (CD Ave Maria, 2023). Alongside these, she successfully embraces other genres, such as film music (CD Simple Thing, 2015) as well as jazz and swing (CD Perfect Day, 2016). Markéta’s pleasant, velvety soprano and her personal charm are the reasons she frequently performs at prestigious social events both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Markéta Fassati is a laureate of several international competitions and sang at the opening of the Czech House in London during the Olympic Games. Throughout her successful professional career, she has performed on Czech and global opera and concert stages.
