A graduate from the Prague Conservatory and from The Academy of Musical Arts in Prague, Tomáš Flégr acquired his concert diploma at the Berlin University of Arts with „cum laude“ honour degree (Professor Leo van Doeselaar). As an organ player, he is regularly active on Canaria Islands. Already before his graduation, Tomáš successfully participated in a number of organ competitions dedicated especially to older organ music. He was awarded the second prize in the Georg Muffat Competition in the Austrian Premonstrate Abbey of Schlägl and was also among the finalists of the Sweelinck Competition in Amsterdam. During his six year employment as organist in St. Francis Church in Prague, he performed concerts with many solo players and choirs. His repertoire also includes Romantic and contemporary organ music. Tomáš Flégr played the Prague premieres of organ compositions by Arvö Pärt and Sofia Gubajdulina. On the Berlin Dome organ, he performed his own transcription of the famous „Moldau“ by Smetana.
